Catch Vasili’s advice on edible gardens at the Sustainable Homes Expo

Media Release

28 October 2009

The chance to hear advice on edible gardening from Vasili Kanidiadis of Vasili's Garden (Channel 31) is one of the many great reasons to visit the Sustainable Homes Expo this month.

Vasili will be presenting on edible gardening, composting and mulching. Following his presentation, an informal discussion will take place in the food arena, supported by the Metropolitan Waste Management Group (MWMG).

“It's great to see people are going back to basic gardening practices, the way our ancestors were gardening decades ago and just like the many guests on my show too,” said Vasili.

“Focusing on a more sustainable approach to gardening by reducing, reusing and recycling everything that comes out back into the garden, is not only great for the garden and the environment, its excellent for a healthy mind and body too!

“So start practicing sustainable living today and grow your own, I can assure you that once you try it you'll never go back to processed food, and it's great for the environment too! Maresi!”

The Sustainable Homes Expo can show you how to cut your bills and create a more comfortable home and garden.

Other features include the chance to get a free rainwater tank design consultation, assessing the size of roof, average rainfall and requirements of your home.

Exhibitors will also be showcasing:

• Indigenous gardening
• Composting
• Rainwater storage solutions
• Greywater and blackwater treatment systems
• And much more.

There will also be entertainment to keep the whole family engaged.

The Sustainable Homes Expo takes place on Sunday 22 November, 10am-5pm at City of Whittlesea Council Offices, 25 Ferres Boulevard, South Morang Melway 183 A10.
