Inclusive Employment Program

We run an Inclusive Employment Program, which offers short-term work placements for local residents who face barriers to employment.

Eligibility 

To apply for these positions, you must: 

  • Be a City of Whittlesea community member 
  • Be facing or have faced barriers to employment 
  • Identify as one (or more) of the following:
    • Culturally and linguistically diverse
    • First Nations 
    • Living with a disability
    • Older.

Conditions

  • The position is available for six months only
  • Employment is conditional upon having the right to work in Australia. Evidence of valid working rights will be required 
  • Information obtained while undertaking the Inclusive Employment Program is deemed confidential and must not be divulged to any other party.

Work Ready Program for migrants and refugees

The Work Ready Program creates meaningful work experience placements to overcome the employment challenges and lack of Australian work experience faced by newly arrived immigrants and refugees living within the City of Whittlesea.

  • Gain local work experience to support you to gain future employment 
  • Build on your current skills and develop new skills 
  • Grow your social and professional connections and networks.

Eligibility

To apply for this program, you must: 

  • Be a resident of the City of Whittlesea municipality 
  • Be a new arrival in Australia 
  • Be fully qualified in your field 
  • Have a relevant working in Australia Visa or permit 
  • Be able to speak a moderate level of English.

Conditions

This is a 12-week placement (2 days per week, 6 hours per day) for a total of 144 hours.
