Welcoming the City of Whittlesea’s new Councillors

The VEC this week formally declared the results of the recent Local Government election for the City of Whittlesea, announcing 11 Councillors who will form the new Council. 

The newly elected Councillors are: 

  • Daniela Zinni, Bundoora Ward 
  • David Lenberg, Epping Ward 
  • Lawrie Cox, Ganbu Gulinj Ward 
  • Aidan McLindon, Kirrip Ward 
  • Stevan Kozmevski, Lalor Ward 
  • Jarrod Lappin, Mernda Ward 
  • Blair Colwell, Mill Park Ward 
  • Christine Stow, North Ward 
  • Deb Gunn, Painted Hills Ward 
  • Martin Taylor, South Morang Ward 
  • Nicholas Brooks, Thomastown Ward. 

City of Whittlesea CEO Craig Lloyd welcomed the new Council, and the return of elected representatives for the City of Whittlesea.  

“We are excited to welcome back locally-elected officials, who will bring with them a real sense of grass roots community representation from right across our municipality,” Craig said.  

“Serving as a Councillor is a unique opportunity to represent the community, and we look forward to working with our new Council to continue to deliver important services and build much-needed facilities and infrastructure for our growing community.” 

A Council Meeting will be held next Tuesday, 19 November, where the Council will elect the Mayor and Deputy Mayor.
