Better sorting with new look rubbish bin lids
Starting in May this year, we will be rolling out replacement rubbish bin lids across the City of Whittlesea to bring us into line with the Victorian. Government’s new standard bin lid colours.
If you have a dark green rubbish bin lid, we will replace it with a red lid.
Simply place your rubbish bin out for collection on your normal collection day and leave it out until 5pm. Our teams will do the rest.
This change will bring our bin lid colours into line with other Council areas across the state and make it easier to correctly sort your waste and know which bin is for rubbish, especially if you move house, visit friends or family in Victoria, or travel around the state.
To minimize waste, The old dark green lids will be recycled into new lids, rather than ending up in landfill.
