Parking safely near schools is vital to ensure the safety of children and support the flow of traffic during busy drop-off and pick-up times.

When parking near schools, here are a few rules to remember:

  • park in designated areas
  • don't stop in a no-stopping zone
  • stay clear of school crossings and intersections
  • don't park on footpaths or nature strips
  • don't stop on the side of the road marked with a yellow edge line.

By parking properly, we can increase visibility for children and drivers, decreasing the risk of accidents and creating safer roads for our kids to get to and from school.

Our parking officers regularly patrol school zones to help ensure safety is maintained.
