Nicer for people, better for dogs

The Mernda Adventure Park precinct, which includes the Mernda Adventure Park and Creek Park dog off-leash area, underwent a major upgrade in 2022.

To make a more inviting space for the community, upgrades and improvements include:

  • new play equipment
  • an update to the existing play structures
  • new shelters
  • picnic tables
  • barbecue
  • drinking fountain
  • replacement of all surfaces
  • landscaping works with new plants and garden beds.

Even the iconic horses were given a makeover, so now they look better than ever.

Public toilet upgrade

In late 2021 upgrades were made the toilets, includingtwo unisex accessible cubicles with baby change facilities.

The improvements will make it easier for families with young children, and offers increased accessibility for anyone who needs it. 

This project was supported by a generous $150,000 contribution from the Victorian Government's Growing Suburbs Fund.

Creek Park dog off-leash area upgrades

The upgrades made to the Creek Park dog off-leash area make it a more inviting and user-friendly space for dogs and owners alike.

The park now includes:

  • a fenced quiet dog zone
  • granitic gravel surfaces for high use areas
  • improvements to the grass surface
  • additional seating and shelters
  • new planting and landscaping.
