Kelynack Recreation Reserve Master Plan
We’ve developed a master plan for Kelynack Recreation Reserve in Mill Park.
About the master plan
Kelynack Recreation Reserve is a 5.7 hectare reserve in an established urban area of Mill Park.
In February 2021, we adopted a master plan for the reserve. The plan aims to transform the reserve into a key sports and recreation facility for the local community, and guides future works and improvements.
In developing the plan, we spoke to local residents, users of the reserve and sporting clubs. The final master plan takes into account the needs of the community.
What the plan includes
The master plan outlines some key priorities for the works at Kelynack Recreation Reserve. These include:
- upgrading sporting and community facilities at the reserve
- improving accessibility and safety
- protecting the natural environment and improving connections to Plenty Gorge Parklands.
Stage 1 of the master plan complete
Stage 1 of the master plan included relocating and upgrading the playground, and developing a new multi-use area. We completed Stage 1 in 2023.
The upgrades include:
- a new playground with nature play and a flying fox
- two new shelters with barbecue facilities
- a basketball half-court
- a table tennis table
- improvements to paths
- an improved entrance from Blossom Park Drive.
