The Waterview Recreation Reserve in Mernda is now open.
About the Waterview Recreation Reserve
The nine hectare Waterview Recreation Reserve has facilities available for use by local schools, sporting clubs and community groups. The reserve has become the home of the Mernda Football and Netball Club, Mernda Cricket Club and Northcrest Calisthenics.
The development works at the reserve included:
- two ovals with ball-catching fences and coaches’ boxes
- sports field lighting
- a community pavilion, including modern change rooms
- a multi-purpose indoor area for community activities and meetings such as calisthenics classes and parents groups.
- access roads and fencing.
Other works at the recreation reserve
The developers of the abutting housing estates provided much of the additional infrastructure at Waterview Recreation Reserve, including:
- shared and pedestrian pathways
- a playground
- picnic facility
- tree and shrub planting.
