nugal biik plants and seeds is a wholesale indigenous plant nursery and seed production area that operates as a social enterprise. Profits from our nursery supports local First Nations initiatives and conservation activities.

Located in Wollert in Victoria, we specialise in indigenous plant flora of the greater northern region of Melbourne, and can take production orders of between 1,000 and 200,000 plants.

Our local indigenous stock list encompasses a full range of terrestrial, aquatic and semi-aquatic species, from grasses to shrubs to trees. Our plants are grown from seed collected by us from local sources and our onsite seed production areas, ensuring they will thrive in local conditions.

Current offerings include standard forestry tubes and hiko cells.

Our team of production nursery experts work closely with clients to advise and select local provenance flora suitable for their specific growing conditions, planting time, and ongoing maintenance requirements.

We deliver high quality plant stock on time and for a range of projects including:

Contract growing for partner nurseries

We require approximately six months growing time and offer delivery.

The nursery operates as a social enterprise and is managed by the not-for-profit organisation Whittlesea Community Connections. Proceeds from nursery operations will support the restoration of nature in our local area, and First Nations-led initiatives that connect young people to Country including:

nugal biik rangers: An on-Country program that (re)connects primary and high school students from Aboriginal and/ or Torres Strait Islander backgrounds to Aboriginal culture and Country through conservation and landcare activities.
Biodiversity and revegetation: local restoration projects including the establishment of a Seed Production Area of indigenous wildflowers, and the revegetation of Curly Sedge Creek in Wollert.
