Types of food and health business we monitor

Registering your food or health business with us is an important step in protecting public health and safety. It enables us to support you in maintaining hygiene standards.

For more information, contact our Health Services Department on 03 9217 2170 or email publichealth@whittlesea.vic.gov.au.

Which businesses do we monitor?

Food businesses

Certain businesses that sell or handle food must be registered with one of the suitable registration authorities, under the Food Act 1984.

If you operate a temporary food stall or a food vehicle, you should register its location with us. In the case of a food van or similar, this would mean letting us know where it is garaged.
