We've produced gardening guides to help you create sustainable gardens at home.

The guides are designed with the plants best suited to the local area in mind.

They explain how to plan, establish and maintain vegetable, herb, fruit, native and indigenous gardens.

Please care for the environment by not printing these documents, or only print the section that you need.

If you'd prefer a hard copy, you can request one by calling 03 9217 2170 or email sustainability@whittlesea.vic.gov.au.

You'll find all the things you need to know about soil and fertilisers, composting and worm farms, mulch and watering, vegetables, herbs, fruit, and when to plant them.

There's also information on companion planting, pests and diseases, and even how to keep chickens.
