Tree renewal programs
In line with our Greening Whittlesea Strategy, we're committed to increasing the number of trees across the municipality.
Trees provide our community with a range of benefits, including:
- Providing much needed shade in urban areas
- Contributing to neighbourhood character
- Reducing air pollution in an efficient and cost-effective way
- Providing habitat for native wildlife
- Enhancing people’s health and wellbeing.
The trees planted along nature strips have been carefully chosen to suit the location and include a range of deciduous and evergreen species.
