Tree renewal programs

In line with our Greening Whittlesea Strategy, we're committed to increasing the number of trees and green cover across the municipality.

Trees provide our community with a range of benefits, including:

  • providing much needed shade in urban areas
  • contributing to neighbourhood character
  • reducing air pollution in an efficient and cost-effective way
  • providing habitat for native wildlife
  • enhancing people’s health and wellbeing.

The trees planted along nature strips have been specifically chosen to suit the location and include a range of deciduous and evergreen species.
