South Morang African Drumming

Classes are held at 7pm on Tuesday nights in South Morang – all experience levels are welcome

South Morang drumming can provide a drum for you if needed. Each class is 90 minutes and can be booked in either 5-week blocks ($175/$140 conc) or 10-week terms ($250/$200 conc), and you can reserve your spot.

African drumming classes are a great way to connect with your community, have fun, de-stress and learn a new instrument. There is a very friendly and relaxed group and great for community connection.

Jacob is a seasoned musician who began his journey in drumming at the age of 13 during his first trip to Ghana, where he developed a deep passion for West African percussion. Over the years, he has honed his craft through extensive study in Ghana, The Gambia, and Senegal, while also receiving formal training on drum kit during his secondary and tertiary education. As a professional musician, Jacob has contributed his talents to ARIA award-winning albums, as well as film and TV soundtracks. He has toured nationally and internationally as both a drummer and percussionist, and is also a skilled composer and producer, regularly creating and performing his own music. Jacob brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to his teaching, sharing his deep understanding of rhythm and percussion with students.
