Free sessions

We provide free, appointment-only immunisation sessions for the public in line with the National Immunisation Program. 

The free sessions are available for:

  • babies, toddlers and young children
  • secondary school students
  • individuals under 20 years of age who require catch-up immunisations
  • pregnant women
  • medically at risk and other vulnerable people.

Immunisation FAQs

When should my family and I get vaccinated?

Vaccines work best when given at time intervals in line with those in the National Immunisation Program.

What do vaccinations cost?

Payment is required for vaccinations not covered under the National Immunisation Program.

The fees are listed under each vaccine type on this page.

Payment will be taken when you make a booking.

Are the vaccines covered by my Private Health Fund?

In some circumstances, your private health fund may cover the cost of paid vaccinations not listed on the National Immunisation Program.

You will need to contact your Private Health Provider to find out if these vaccinations are included as part of your cover. 

Do you provide travel vaccinations?

We do not provide travel vaccines. If you are travelling outside of Australia, please visit your GP at least one month prior to travel to get advice on vaccination for you and your children.

Can I get the COVID and flu vaccines on the same day?

A COVID-19 vaccine can be given on the same day, one after the other, with a flu vaccine. 

There is no requirement for a time interval between these vaccines.

However, we do not provide COVID vaccines.

Get ready for your immunisation

Before coming to a session, it’s important to be prepared and know what to expect.

  • Bring your child’s health record (green book) and any documented evidence of previous vaccinations.
  • Wear comfortable and loose fitting clothing to the session.
  • The nurse will discuss possible side effects and answer any questions you have before giving you any vaccines.
  • After immunisation, we ask that you wait 15 minutes before leaving, in case you have a reaction to the vaccine (which is very rare).

How vaccination impacts eligibility

If your child's vaccinations aren't up to date, they may be unable to attend kindergaten or childcare, and your family assistance payments might be impacted. 

No Jab No Play

If your child is attending childcare or kindergarten, you will need to provide proof that your child is up to date with their immunisations.

Your childcare service provider will ask you for an Immunisation History Statement for your child when you enrol, and again six to seven months later. 

If you do not provide an Immunisation History Statement, you child may not be able to attend childcare or kindergarten.

No Jab No Pay

Your Commonwealth Family Tax Benefit Part A or the Childcare Rebate may be reduced if:

  • your child has not received all immunisations required for their age
  • your child’s immunisations are not correctly recorded on the Australian Immunisation Register.

If your child requires immunisations, you should contact us or your GP to arrange them as soon as possible. 

If you believe your child’s details on the Australian Immunisation Register are incorrect, you can contact your immunisation service provider.

Catch up immunisations

Free catch-up vaccinations are available for people under the age of 20, refugees and people seeking asylum.

Catch-up immunisations may be required for a number of reasons, including:

  • to meet Australian vaccination requirements
  • your child was overseas or on holiday and missed the vaccinations that were due
  • your family recently migrated to Australia
  • your child had a medical condition preventing immunisation when immunisations were due
  • you have been contacted by us, Centrelink or the Australian Immunisation Register to let you know your child is not up to date.
