headspace

Headspace provides mental health support to 12–25 year-olds. There are more than 110 headspace centres around Australia.

You can drop in, talk to someone over the phone or chat online. They can support you to get back on track and manage your mental health. Call 1800 650 890.

Kids Helpline

Kids Helpline provides and confidential 24/7 phone support and online counselling for young people aged five to 25. Their phone line is open 24-hours-a-day, seven days a week. Call1800 55 1800or use theonline live chat.

Parent Line

Parent Line is a free phone service for parents and carers of children from birth to 18 years old. They offer confidential and anonymous counselling and support on parenting issues. Call13 22 89.

QLife

QLife is an anonymous and free LGBTIQA+ peer support and referral service for people in Australia. Theirphone and web chat are available from 3 pm to midnight every day. Call1800 184 527or use theironline chat.

PANDA

PANDA (Perinatal Anxiety and Depression Australia) supports the mental health of parents and families during pregnancy and in their first year of parenthood. They offer a safe, confidential and caring space for you to talk. Call1300 726 306.

Local mental health services and support

Mental Health and Wellbeing Locals provide free mental health care and support right in our community, making it easier for you to get the help you need. 

You don't need a referral, with support available to anyone aged 26 years and older who is facing mental health or wellbeing issues. You can also get help if you're supporting someone with mental ill health. 

Support is available to suit your needs. It can be in-person, over the phone or through outreach services.

If you're looking for local support and a sense of community, check out the Whittlesea Men’s Shed or The Shed Online. These groups are perfect for making friends, sharing stories, learning new things or just hanging out and working on a project together. 

It's a relaxed way to meet like-minded people and make new connections. 

Memory loss and dementia

Dementia Australia offers resources and help for people with dementia and their families, including the National Dementia Helpline, counselling and support groups. You can reach the helpline on 1800 100 500.

The organisation provides services to support you at every stage; from understanding an initial diagnosis to managing day-to-day challenges. If you need someone to talk to, advice or a place to connect with others, Dementia Australia can guide you and your loved ones.
