Pensioner rebates

 You may be eligible for a rebate on your rates notice if you hold a current concession card.

The rebate only applies to your principal place of residence

Am I eligible to receive the rebate?

If you have one of the following concession cards, you will be eligible to receive a rebate:

  • Pensioner Concession Card (PCC)
  • Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) Gold Card - Totally and Permanently Incapacitated (TPI), or
  • Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) Gold Card - War Widow (WW)

 

Note: Health Care Card holders are not eligible for a rates concession

How much is the rebate?

The pension rebate in 2024-25 is $309.50.

This consists of:

  • the Rates concession of $259.50
  • the State Fire Services Levy concession of $50.00.

Do I need to apply every year?

No. The amount will be automatically deducted from your rates notice.

There is no need to reapply if your circumstances have not changed.

We will verify your details with Centrelink to confirm your eligibility.

The name on your pensioner concession card must match our system exactly.

If you can't download and print the form, collect one from the Council Offices at 25 Ferres Boulevard, South Morang or phone us on 03 9217 2170 and we'll send you a form with a reply paid envelope.

Step 2.Complete the form

You can either fill the form out online or print out and complete by hand.

You'll need your concession card number to complete the form.

Sign and date the form.

Step 3.Email the application form

Step 4.Processing your application

We'll verify your details and apply the rebate to your next rates notice.
