Cycling and bike paths

Cycling is a healthy and sustainable travel option. Discover our network of bicycle lanes and paths, both on-road and off-road, designed to promote safe and efficient cycling throughout the area.

The benefits of bike paths

Bike paths and on-road cycling routes have a number of benefits, including:

  • allowing drivers, pedestrians and cyclists to share the road safely
  • encouraging the use of bicycles as a healthy and sustainable way to get around.

TravelSmart Maps

The Whittlesea Bicycle Users Group (BUG) have developed the City of Whittlesea TravelSmart Maps to provide clear and accessible information about sustainable transport options.

The maps include information about bicycle, walking and public transport routes in the local area. TravelSmart Maps make it easy to find a cycling route and make sustainable travel plans.
