Moving into an existing home
If there are no bins at the property you've moved into, you can order replacements online.
We'll let you know if we need a statutory declaration.
Please make sure your property number is clearly shown on the letterbox or the front of the building.
It may take up to five days to receive your replacement bin.
Order replacement bins
Moving into a newly built home
If you're moving into a newly built home, you'll need to order your rubbish and recycling bins online.
You'll need to provide a copy of your certificate of occupancy permit before we can deliver your bins. Your builder will have this certificate once the building works are completed.
It may take up to five days for your bins to be delivered.
Please make sure your property number is clearly shown on either the letterbox, the front of the building, or a piece of cardboard in a front window.
Order new residential bins
Moving into an existing multi-unit development
If you're moving into a multi-unit development, please get in touch with the body corporate first, as they may be required to provide you with bins.
If the body corporate advises you that it is a Council service and you haven't got a Council bin, you can order one online or call 03 9217 2170.
Order a replacement bin
If you live in a multi-unit development where waste is collected by a private company and you'd like it to be collected by Council, please download and complete the City of Whittlesea Council Collection form.

Moving into a new multi-unit development
If you're moving into a new multi-unit development, please get in touch with the body corporate first, as they may be required to provide you with bins. If the body corporate advises you that it is a Council service and you haven't got a Council bin, you can order one online or call 03 9217 2170.

Moving into an existing business premises
If the previous occupants didn't leave the bins at the premises, you can order a replacement 240 litre commercial rubbish bin.
If you want a 240 litre recycling bin, contact us on 03 9217 2170 to confirm your premises' eligibility.
Please make sure your property number is clearly shown on either the letterbox, the front of the building, or on a piece of cardboard in a front window.
It may take up to five days for your bins to be delivered.
Please note we don't provide bins or a waste service to businesses that hold a private waste disposal contract.

Moving into a newly built business premises
If you're moving into a newly built business premises, you can order your 240 litre commercial rubbish bin online.

Moving out of a home or business property
When you move out of a home or business property, please leave your bins for the next occupants to use.
It's illegal to remove council bins from a property.

Bin ordering FAQ
Why is my rubbish bin lid red and my neighbour's dark green?
We're in the process of updating all bin lids to the Australian Standard. All new and replacement bin lids are now red. There's no difference to what can go into these rubbish bins, and they're collected on the same schedule.
