Whittlesea community garden mural

The Whittlesea Community Garden mural, created by local artist Meg De Young, is a vibrant addition to the Whittlesea Community Garden.

Funded by the Whittlesea Creative Communities Fund, this project provided financial support to artists and creative groups impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Meg De Young's mural connects the community through art, creating a welcoming space for walks, family gatherings, and communal activities. The mural not only benefits those directly involved with the garden but also enriches the experience of all visitors.

“This grant has enabled me as an artist to keep the connections to the community through COVID restrictions,” Meg said.

“It has given me the chance of producing work that will directly benefit members of the community that not only are involved with Whittlesea Community Garden but engage with the garden space itself. Whether that be on walks or taking their family there for lunch, it has given me the opportunity to produce something for everybody to enjoy.”
