First hybrid library

Iconic Mill Park library opened its doors in 2002 and was the first library in Victoria designed with the concept of a hybrid digital and print library.

Library upgrade

In 2020–21, the library underwent a significant upgrade, including these features to make your library experience more enjoyable:

  • accessible gender-neutral toilet facilities
  • new air conditioning system
  • environmentally-friendly LED lighting system
  • a new deck and garden area.

Chancez cafe

Chancez Cafe is open Monday to Friday from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm. Please come down, enjoy a coffee and support this wonderful initiative.

Activities and resources

We offer a range of after school activities, Storytime sessions, a Maker Space, and an ever-growing collection of books and resources. Our collection includes local history titles, and a selection of resources available in Chinese, Greek, Italian, Maltese, Hindi and Punjabi. We host various library events, an array of social connection groups, a media conversion program and offer regular technology help sessions.

On Thursday nights we offer Libraries After Dark, where the library is open until 10 pm. Light refreshments are provided, along with free Wi-Fi, entertainment, and the opportunity to socialise with other members.
