Whittlesea Library

The outside of Whittlesea Library

The heart of our community

Opening in 2014, Whittlesea Library is situated on the land of the Wurundjeri Wilam peoples. It is like a second home for our members as it provides a lot of heart and a strong country feel.

Library location and facilities

Located in the Whittlesea Community and Activity Centre, the library offers many welcoming spaces including:

  • an outdoor courtyard with a garden and room for children to play or families to have a picnic lunch
  • a vibrant children’s area for Storytimes and reading
  • a flexible and comforting multipurpose lounge area, whether you’re breastfeeding and want some privacy, or a teen wanting to study or play a game after school
  • a warm and welcoming fireplace and read a book or newspaper in the colder months.

For those looking for a dedicated place to work or study, the Council rooms within the Community and Activity Centre are available to book.

As at the library or visit the venue hire page.

Events for all

Our library offers a variety of events including Storytimes, Tech Help, Justice of the Peace drop-in sessions, and Carer’s Catch Ups. We love our library and are immensely proud of our strong connection to the local community.
