Frequently asked questions

Can I book a shelter for an event or party?

The shelters are not able to be booked, they are available only on a ‘first come first served’ basis.

However, you can bring and set up your own picnic or temporary pop-up structures on the large grassed area.

Does the park and playground close?

The park and playground are open 24 hours a day, however the toilets and other play and security features operate within restricted hours.

What time does the water play splash pad operate?

The mist rings, water jets and bubblers in the water play area operate from 8 am to 8 pm during the warmer months (typically mid-November to mid-March).

The water play pumps and tables operate all year round.

What time does the play space lighting operate?

The lighting is set to operate from dusk to dawn.

What time are the toilets open?

Toilets are open every day in the warmer months from 7 am through to 8:30 pm while the water play is operational.

In the cooler months the toilets will be open from 7 am to 7 pm.

What is a Changing Places facility?

A Changing Places facility is a larger than standard accessible toilet with:

  • a height adjustable adult-sized change table
  • a tracking hoist
  • a shower
  • space for two people either side of a peninsula toilet.

I need a key to access the Changing Places facility, how can I get one?

You will need a master locksmith access key (MLAK) to open the Changing Places toilet facility.

You can use your own MLAK to access it or email leisure@whittlesea.vic.gov.au to register your details with us so that a database of key locations is available.

Our MLAK can be collected from our Westfield offices during business hours.

Where can I park if the car park is full?

In the event the carpark is full, additional parking can be found at the Mill Park Leisure Centre, located 350 m down Morang Drive towards Childs Road.

Entry to the Leisure Centre car park is off the roundabout at Moorhead Drive and Morang Drive.

Can I bring my dog into the fenced playground area?

Dogs (excluding registered service animals) are not permitted within the fenced playground area. This restriction includes dogs on leads.

How do I report damage or provide feedback?

Damage to play equipment or park fixtures and feedback on the play space can be sent through to parks@whittlesea.vic.gov.au.

If the matter requires urgent attention, please call 03 9217 2170.

Is smoking permitted in the play space?

Smoking is not permitted within the fenced area of the play space.

There is rubbish in the park, how often are the bins collected?

The bins are collected every weekday morning and twice a day on the weekends.

How often are the toilets cleaned?

Toilets are cleaned twice a day, once in the morning and again in the early afternoon.

Is photography permitted in the play space?

Photography is permitted within the play space however we do ask that the privacy of individuals is considered and respected in photos.
