Children’s Consultation

Calling all children aged 0-10:
We want to hear from you!

The disruptions caused by COVID-19 has had an impact in many positive and negative ways and our children have also been part of this journey with changing routines, school closures and isolation from extended family and friends.

We sometimes forget that the little people in our life could experience anxiety and wonder if things will ever return to normal. In contrast, other children have taken this new way of life in their stride and have enjoyed the extra family time. Whatever the case for the individual, we all have thoughts about how CODVID-19 has affected us, and we would love to hear this from your child.

Questions you can ask your child

Please feel free to work on as many questions as you like

  • How many days have you been in lockdown?
  • What does a day in lockdown look like for you?
  • Who is the first person you are going to hug when it's over?
  • How do you keep safe from the Corona Virus?
  • How do you feel about going back to school?

How does your child want their voice heard?

Children can answer the questions above in whatever way they choose. Here are some ideas:

Read the questions above to your child and ask them to draw a picture of their answer. Then, take a photo of the image and upload it to our submission form here.

Write or print some of the questions above on a sheet of paper. Next, ask your child to write their answer underneath. When finished, take a photo of their work and submit here.

Open the video app on your phone. Click record and ask your child some of the questions above. After you're finished, upload your response here

  • You may want to rehearse with your child before recording
  • Film somewhere with plenty of light
  • Make sure you’re not covering the microphone
  • Get in close when filming.
  • Answer as many questions as you want
  • Keep clip under 1 minute long

We would love to see some creative submissions! Feel free to upload a different type of response via our form.

We will display the submissions after Children's Week 24 October – 1 November and help inform how we can best provide Early Years services to the Whittlesea community.

We'll send you the link to the collection of responses when it's ready.
