New all abilities play space coming soon

In a first for the City of Whittlesea, a state-of-the-art all abilities play space will be constructed in Mill Park Recreation Reserve on Morang Drive.

What's happening?

In a first for the City of Whittlesea, a state-of-the-art all abilities play space will be constructed in Mill Park Recreation Reserve on Morang Drive. The park will include the latest in all abilities play equipment, water play, barbecues, multiple picnic areas, drinking fountains, a Changing Places toilet, additional accessible toilet facilities and so much more.

Project update

Stage 1 - Car park

Works to realign the car park will start in September 2018. During these works (approximately four months) there will be no access to the car park off Morang Drive. The existing shelters, barbecue, picnic facilities and drinking fountain will also be demolished to facilitate this construction. The existing playground will remain open during the car park realignment and can continue to be used.

Stage 1 - Play space

Based on recent consultation with both residents and the broader community, we are working to finalise the design of the play space and associated facilities. We’ll update this webpage with the final design in the coming months.

Project cost

Council will contribute $3 million alongside a $1 million contribution from the State Government’s Growing Suburbs Fund.
