From group activities to outdoor mindfulness sessions, these events will not only get you out and about, but also allow you to enjoy and appreciate our beautiful natural environment.

Sign up for one of the following nature-based events:

Family Nature Orienteering

Get a group of friends or family together and join us for a nature orienteering session. Exercise your mind and body as you test your creativity, observation skills and memory in the great outdoors.

When: Saturday 3 June, 9.30am and 1pm

Where: Starting point will be from Granite Hills Park, Topaz Grove, South Morang

Nature Journaling workshop

In a busy world it is important to take time out to stop and smell the roses - or at least admire the beauty in nature around us. Nature journaling is a simple yet effective way to practice mindfulness and can help you slow down and connect with the green spaces around you.

When: Monday 5 June, 10am-12noon

Where: Whittlesea Community Garden and Library, Laurel St, Whittlesea

Forest Therapy

Research shows that a Forest Therapy walk has significant physical and mental health benefits, with positive effects on the immune system that can last for several days after your experience. Join us for a guided Forest Therapy walk, where you can take the time to focus and connect with the environment around you.

When: Thursday 8 June, 10am-12.30pm

Where: Meeting place – Epping Stadium carpark (located off Harvest Home Road, Epping)

In line with this year’s global World Environment Day theme of #BeatPlasticPollution, the City of Whittlesea will also be running free workshops on how to creatively reuse plastic waste.
