Council to open service centre in Whittlesea township

Council to open service centre in Whittlesea township

Wednesday, February 22, 2023

Whether you want to register a pet, meet with Council’s planning team or find out more about local support for business, Whittlesea residents will soon be able do all this and more much closer to home with the opening of a new Council hub.

The hub will open in the former Westpac bank site in Church Street Whittlesea later this year.

Chair Administrator Lydia Wilson said Council has been promoting this new initiative to ensure that residents in the northern part of the municipality did not have to drive from South Morang for much of their Council business.

“This hub will bring more of our services out to the farthest region of our municipality,” she said.

“We’re committed to making things easier for our residents to conduct business with us in-person as well as improving our digital offerings.”

The hub will house Council customer service staff who will be able to take cashless payments and conduct other services that currently residents need to travel to South Morang for.

“We’re working through the detail of the range of services that we can offer from the centre and will update the community closer to the opening,” Ms Wilson said.

Meanwhile residents can contact Council via its website at, by emailing, dropping in to 25 Ferres Boulevard, South Morang or by calling 9217 2170.
