Communities that are physically active are more likely to be healthier communities.
Active Whittlesea 2019-2028 will guide the planning and promotion of sport, leisure and recreation programs, services and facilities within the City of Whittlesea over the next 10 years.
Diversity is one of our greatest strengths, yet many groups (e.g. migrants, women and girls, people with a disability) experience significant barriers to participation — such as cost, transport and awareness.
This strategy aims to address these barriers to get more people active more often.
This Girl Can is a VicHealth campaign which celebrates and supports women embracing physical activity in a way that suits them.
It aims to encourage women of all ages, levels of ability, background, body shape and size to feel empowered to be physically active.
City of Whittlesea has teamed up with Darebin, Manningham, Moreland and Yarra Ranges councils to co-host a series of webinars, the This Girl Can: Local Women Webinar Series, throughout November 2020.
The free series celebrates women of all forms getting active, and covers a diverse range of topics, engaging stories and local tips for getting active.
