Highlights

Learn how we as a community can respond to local emergencies. This free event is a community partnership with the CFA, Whittlesea and Surrounds Fireguard Group, the City of Whittlesea, and DEECA (Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action). It is open to the City of Whittlesea and surrounding suburbs including Eden Park, Humevale, Kinglake, Kinglake West, and Beveridge.

The aim is to bring the community together to discuss and learn how we all respond to unexpected emergencies that may occur in our local area, well in advance of the upcoming Bushfire season and possible El Nino weather event.

The CFA will present a ‘Bushfire Scenario’ and the community will be invited to speak about their current emergency plans, hear from and ask questions to a panel of experts (including Victoria Police, VicSES, Council representatives, Department of Education, and more).

An example: How will our local schools or Aged Care facilities respond in an emergency? How and where can you and your family evacuate to? What are you going to do with your animals and pets?

Find out evacuation options for you, your neighbours, and your family, as well as how to take care of your animals during an emergency. This is a whole of community event and to be successful we need a wide representation from our local residents. Your participation matters!
