Youth events

Baseline For Young People is City of Whittlesea's Youth Services Team. Providing programs, events and projects that young people can get involved in. Our work has a prevention, early intervention and capacity building focus, and works with young people aged 10 to 25 years. Providing support and advocacy for the needs of young people, their rights, wellbeing and helping them see their full potential.

April School Holidays with Baseline

City of Whittlesea's Youth Services team, Baseline for young people, are hosting a range of online events and activities for residents aged 10 - 18 years old these school holidays.

To get involved in any or all of the events, simply register below each activity.

 

Movie day

Have a magical time at our screening of Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore for young people 10 – 18 years. Hosted by City of Whittlesea - Baseline for Young People.

Places are limited, register your place to secure a spot!

Event details:

Tuesday 12 April, 1:15pm for a 2pm start.

Village Cinemas Plenty Valley, 415 McDonalds Road, Mill Park 3082.

Tickets are $7.50, with bookings prior to the session essential.

Art session

Get in touch with your creative side, by joining us for a fun artistic session where you will have the opportunity to create your very own masterpiece. No artistic background required!

Hosted by City of Whittlesea - Baseline for Young People.

Event details:

Thursday 14 April, 2pm-4pm.

Brush by the Vines, 44 Oleander Drive, Mill Park 3082.

Recommended for young people aged 10-18.

Tickets are $7.50, with bookings essential.

All Aboard Girls Skateboarding

Learn to skate or improve your skills with our free 'All Aboard' Skateboarding Session aimed at women and girls, in partnership with YMCA.

Skateboards and helmets provided, bring your own if you've got them!

Reduce Reuse Upcycle

Do you have a green thumb?

Learn how to make a terrarium with recycled/upcycled materials, at Reduce Reuse Upcycle hosted by City of Whittlesea - Baseline for Young People!

Aboriginal traditional games

Join us for an afternoon of Aboriginal Traditional Games, hosted by City of Whittlesea - Baseline for Young People!

Event details:

Friday 22 April, 2pm-4pm.

Thomastown Aquatic & Recreation Centre (TRAC), 52-54 Main Street, Thomastown 3074.

This is a FREE event. Bookings are essential.

 

Baseline for Young People weekly programs

FreeZa

This program is designed for young people who want to enter the music industry, or grow their existing knowledge. These interactive workshops fosters connection to likeminded young people, and provides opportunities to develop new skills such as event management and DJ workshops.

Whittlesea Youth Environment ACTION Group

This is a newly formed group directed by young people who care about the environment. Members of this group will be able to make a real difference to the community through exploring environmental issues and planning how to act now to improve our environment for the future.


Who: Young people aged 12 – 18 years

Creative Youth

This group welcomes young people who are creative and interested in digital and pencil art. Participants are provided with a safe place to express their creativity and meet like-minded individuals.

Who: Young people aged 10 – 17 years
When: Wednesdays, 4 – 5:30pm online

Young Women’s Leadership program

The Young Women’s Leadership program provides a supportive online space for young women in the community to develop and strengthen their leadership skills, with a focus on topics such as respectful relationships, gender differences and wellbeing.

Who: Young women aged 15 – 20 years
When: Mondays, after school.
