Epping North East Regional Recreation Reserve Master Plan

We have developed a long-term master plan for the future Epping North East Regional Recreation Reserve, in the north-west corner of Epping Road and Harvest Home Road, Wollert.

The master plan aims to meet the future needs of the growing community by strategically planning the required facilities to increase residents’ enjoyment of sports and recreation, health and wellbeing and overall quality of life.

Endorsed by Council, the master plan provides for the future planning and construction of:

  • 2 full-sized football / cricket ovals
  • sports pavilion and social gathering space servicing the sports ovals, with access via a dedicated car park
  • a Sports and Recreation Centre Precinct at the site’s main entry off Harvest Home
  • 6 tennis courts serviced by an independent small pavilion and car park
  • 2 netball / basketball courts serviced by an independent small pavilion
  • sufficient shared parking servicing primarily the sports and aquatic centre but also the sports pavilion and ovals
  • cricket practice nets
  • car parking directly fronting both ovals
  • overflow parking, servicing both the football ovals and sports and aquatic centre within the electrical transmission easement
  • lawn bowls within the adjacent RSL precinct
  • extensive passive open space and planting areas
  • path connections to the adjoining regional trail networks
  • a large regional play facility incorporating dedicated car park, picnic, barbeque and public toilet facilities
  • internal and linking path system to associated facilities and external trails
  • wetlands and water sensitive urban design to treat stormwater run-off from the site

The Epping North East regional recreation reserve will complement the existing 4-pitch soccer facility on the south side of Harvest Home Road and create a sporting hub within the Epping North corridor.

To meet the immediate demands for early years services such as kindergarten and maternal and child heath, a modular Child and Family centre will be located within the reserve on Champions Parade. The facility will also provide some of the basic planning and infrastructure that the recreation reserve can use in future stages of the Master Plan.
