Female Inclusion in sports grants

Our current and forthcoming grants programs are now on hold while we assess the best way to provide value to the whole community which is also adjusting to the effects of COVID-19. The community will be invited to provide input and feedback into our new Community Grants programs soon. The new programs will look at how we can best support our local community through these challenging times. Please follow Council on Facebook and watch this space for updates on the launch of the new grants programs.

About our Female Inclusion in Sports Grants

Grants of up to $3,000 (ex GST) are available to local sporting clubs to create or enhance projects aimed at increasing female inclusion in all aspects of sport (e.g. as players, coaches, umpires and in leadership roles).

Sport offers many health and wellbeing benefits, as well as increasing leadership opportunities, self-esteem, interpersonal networks, social inclusion and community connections.

Despite these benefits, there are low rates of female participation in any aspect of organised sport or physical activity.

The Female Inclusion in Sport Grants Program aims to assist clubs to develop projects that promote and encourage equal inclusion of females in sports across the municipality.

Key dates

Applications to the 2020 Female Inclusion in Sports Grant Round opens Monday 27 January 2020 and will close at 5pm on Friday 28 February 2020.
