Fast-tracked minor and priority applications

Your planning proposal or application may be eligible for fast-tracking if it meets certain criteria.

We have three fast track processes:

VicSmart applications

VicSmart is a process for straightforward subdivisions, fences, advertising signage and minor buildings and works.

Contact our Building and Planning department on 03 9217 2170 or buildplan@whittlesea.vic.gov.au to find out if your project is eligible.

Fast Lane applications

Fast Lane is a simple and fast process for assessing planning permit applications for single dwellings on lot sizes less than 300 m2 within our growth areas. The service offers a 15 day turnaround time.

You can apply for this service if you plan to build:

  • a single dwelling
  • on a lot less than 300m2
  • where a development plan overlay applies
  • in suburbs such as Epping, Mernda, Doreen, South Morang or Wollert.
